Best escape room so far

Done a few escape rooms, and so far this one was the best. Even when you arrive in what you think is the lobby it is interesting. THe role play by the staff was great, and the room and puzzles were awesome. Puzzles very interesting, and one of them my wife even freaked out, and after a few days she is still talking about it ( won`t tell you what it is, but if you are claustrophobic you will know when you see it ). Looking forward to our next one in Dubai to see if it measures up. Too bad it is only 1 hour, we nearly made it to the end... Location is great since we were staying near Dam Square.

This was literally the best Escape Room experience I have even been. The rooms were very carefully designed. The mystery starts from the very 1st minute. Absolutely recommended!!!!!

Exciting, engaging and all-round utter excellence

The minute we we were led downstairs into the aged cellars of the Beurs, it felt like we were walking straight into a chapter from one of Doyle's books itself and this suspension from reality was maintained throughout the entire experience. The room itself was an hour of pure adventure: challenging, exciting and brilliantly thought out. Each member of the group felt important and there was always something for everyone to do. The puzzles are extremely well designed, to the point that I genuinely squealed at a point when our next challenge opened up in a very exciting and unique way - if I told you more, I'd have to kill you etc etc. Brilliant concept, perfect for groups, definitely recommend!

First one but definitely not the last! (The Architect)

The Architect is the first escape room ever tried. We went by 2 despite the reviews saying that you need to be a bigger group. In fact we completed 95% of it but before last clue the 60 min timer was up. There are pros/cons in any size as if you're a bigger no. might be harder to coordinate and get ppl to work together. Anyway..the clues and how it works is really great as it makes you pick up your common sense and knowledge under time pressure. There's a good balance of using all riddles, scents, music, sequences, etc.

Excellent Experience: the Architect

My husband and I are driving through Europe and we did our first escape room in Hamburg two days ago and we were hooked! So with roughly 20 hours to spend in Amsterdam, we thought we’d try another escape room. It was worth every penny! We picked Sherlocked based on TripAdvisor reviews. Despite being number 3 overall (at the moment!), it had over 1,000 reviews and over 900 were excellent. Also, the reviews indicated that the experience involved more puzzles rather than an endless series of lock combinations, which really appealed to us. Our game master, Armando, greeted us at the door and did a great job telling the story and getting us into character with his clever tale of secret societies and hidden rooms. His English was phenomenal and his story telling skills were excellent. There was no role playing, per se. The background story served to explain the purpose of the room, but it wasn’t silly or stupid at all. The puzzles were fun and varied. There were some classic pattern recognition games, but there were also a variety of really creative games that involved using all five of our senses! I won’t say more for fear of spoiling it, but we highly recommend this room. It was challenging and we didn’t finish (got stuck on one clue for the last 10 minutes or so), but we really enjoyed the ones we did solve. It is hard to manage your time well with only 2 people, and we were told the success rate for groups of 2 is 15 to 20 percent and we were apparently 80 percent finished, so we felt good about our efforts!! I’d imagine this would be even more fun with 3 or 4 people. p.s. I went back and read the “terrible” and “poor” reviews and the majority appear to be old so my assumption is that they don’t apply because ours was neither confusing nor a role playing game and our game master could not be more pleasant or polite.

Great way to spend a day in Amsterdam!

Fun, challenging, and exciting, the folks behind the "Sherlocked" escape rooms in Amsterdam have done it right! They have two experiences to choose from: The Vault, which is a break-in, and The Architect, which is mystery-solving. Both are very well curated, with clever puzzles that take advantage of the historical building in which they're housed. We solved both in one day -- it's recommended to do the Architect first, then the Vault, which we did. We tackled the Architect in the morning. Our host was engaging and enthusiastic, and our team of four had a wonderful time working our way through the secrets of the room. The puzzles are clever and well-organized, with lots of little, thoughtful touches -- notes penned on fabric, for example. Play is available in both English and Dutch. After lunch, we tackled the Vault -- a heist scenario that begins with your talking your way into the building -- and the Security Guard host was not persuaded easily! As with the Architect, this scenario took great advantage of the building's historical features and was both mentally and physically challenging! We had an incredible time. I can honestly say this was the most impressive escape room set-up I've ever seen!
