Best escape room in Amsterdam!!!!
The best escape I have been to in a while. The concept is amazing and the adrenaline rush was real. We couldn’t stop talking about it after we finished it. It was a bit different than other typical escape rooms, but 120% worth it.

Fantastic atmosphere and well judged puzzles
We've done a few escape rooms in the UK but this has been the most enjoyable one so far. Really interactive and exciting puzzles with plenty of surprises. Puzzles range in challenge but are generally logical and not too frustrating as long as you remember not to overlook anything! A lot less random searching required than other escape rooms we've been to. We managed to escape within the time, which was very satisfying as we got stuck for a while on 2 or 3 of the puzzles. If you're planning a trip to Amsterdam please do try Sherlocked, you won't regret it!

Great stuff!
This escape game is so much fun! Took about 50 minutes and we loved every minute of it! Staff were friendly and inviting and the game itself was challenging, fun and exciting, exactly what you want from an escape room!

A really great and adventurous experience!
Waow! I've just played the Architect with 5 friends and I'm still excited! This was my first "escape room" and I can't wait to play another. Sherlock's "The Vault" is now on top of my list. Without spoiling anything, I can say that the Architect will surprise you, challenge you to work together and amaze you with cool details. The decor is stunning and the whole story behind the Architect is really interesting. Just go and check it out, you will certainly not regret it! ;)

It was great.nkids were way ahead of their daddy.
We arrived a little late. The staff were super in getting us settled and started. Some of the kids had done other escape rooms before but said this was really well done. The place is really well done. It's really nice that they take a photo of you group after. Highly recommended. It's not cheap but it's value for money.

Excellent Experience: the Architect
My husband and I are driving through Europe and we did our first escape room in Hamburg two days ago and we were hooked! So with roughly 20 hours to spend in Amsterdam, we thought we’d try another escape room. It was worth every penny! We picked Sherlocked based on TripAdvisor reviews. Despite being number 3 overall (at the moment!), it had over 1,000 reviews and over 900 were excellent. Also, the reviews indicated that the experience involved more puzzles rather than an endless series of lock combinations, which really appealed to us. Our game master, Armando, greeted us at the door and did a great job telling the story and getting us into character with his clever tale of secret societies and hidden rooms. His English was phenomenal and his story telling skills were excellent. There was no role playing, per se. The background story served to explain the purpose of the room, but it wasn’t silly or stupid at all. The puzzles were fun and varied. There were some classic pattern recognition games, but there were also a variety of really creative games that involved using all five of our senses! I won’t say more for fear of spoiling it, but we highly recommend this room. It was challenging and we didn’t finish (got stuck on one clue for the last 10 minutes or so), but we really enjoyed the ones we did solve. It is hard to manage your time well with only 2 people, and we were told the success rate for groups of 2 is 15 to 20 percent and we were apparently 80 percent finished, so we felt good about our efforts!! I’d imagine this would be even more fun with 3 or 4 people. p.s. I went back and read the “terrible” and “poor” reviews and the majority appear to be old so my assumption is that they don’t apply because ours was neither confusing nor a role playing game and our game master could not be more pleasant or polite.

Beautiful, challenging, brilliant.
We've been to a few puzzle rooms now and this one really stands out. The decor, the story, the creativity that went into the challenges is really inspired. I loved that it was truly difficult at times (although I'm not sure if I'd say the same if we hadn't júst made it..). I noticed a review here complaining about a 'lack of logic' to the quests and even though it's a bit junior of me, all I can say is 'awww shucks'. Everything's wildly connected here and indeed nothing is spelled out for you. If you're stuck, it's not the game and it's not the host; it's you. We were thrilled every time something clicked with us, even (and especially) after reaching that point of desperation, when you think you've run out of clues. In short; can't wait for their next room and this one is highly recommend!

One room super, the other not
We did both rooms here within two weeks. The “Architect” deserves 5 stars as it was well done, logical and a great experience. We would definitely recommend this room!! With high hopes we also booked the “Vault”, which unfortunately was not great and very disappointing. It starts cool but as soon as you’re inside it’s not great. Pros: - great design and rooms Cons: - communicating with host only on walkie talkie and we couldn’t understand a word. If you’re not a native english speaker (and neither am I), you need to speak slowly and clearly. We had a male host at the “Architect”, who was great, the girl this time was awful - the hints we received were terrible and didn’t help but rather confused us - some elements (“the guard”) wasted so much time (seriously, 5 mins wasted!!!) and that shouldn’t happen - some puzzles were for one person, some for 4. this didn’t make sense - some puzzles are not logical at all (i have done over 30 escape rooms world wide) and are frustrating We felt overall very frustrated with the “Vault” as it’s obvious that there’s some good ideas but also some things that are not thought through. Huge time-wasting moments that couldn’t be skipped. We felt cheated of a good 10 mins of our time due to some lengthy parts (guard, sphinx speech). We felt like we could have solved it with a better host. We really wanted to love this room and with better hints and streamlining some of the puzzles it would be great but as it stands. I would not recommend this room. Do the “Architect” and you’ll be happy, great theme and very well done!
