What People Say About Sherlocked Escape Rooms in Amsterdam

Really nice room, great experience and really nice guy to present the room and take care of us. Surely one of the best escape rooms I've tried.

Some quick logistical points before I write my review: you can do the Vault (90 minutes) and the Architect (60 minutes) in any order, but I strongly recommend that you try the Architect first. We did the opposite, and it was still very enjoyable, but I think Architect-then-Vault would be optimal. Also, to put our review in perspective, we are a family of 4 with two young teens, we have done over 30 escape rooms around the world (US, Asia, Europe, Oceania), and we escaped both rooms successfully, with ~10 minutes left for the Vault and ~20 minutes for the Architect. (We also completed the Escape Room experience by Sherlocked at the Rijksmuseum; I'll give a review of that when I review the museum; short version is I recommend it.) Okay, with all of that established, both of these escape rooms are AMAZING. Both of them are incredibly well constructed, with a range of puzzles that go well beyond simple locks (there are a few locks, of course, but there is so much more than that) and absolutely immersive decor that makes the most of the incredibly historic location. The rooms are also (mostly!) very spacious - I have never before been in rooms this big. The game guides are completely on-point - they are never intrusive, and know just the right moments to give encouragement. We didn't require a lot of hints, but from the other reviews + our experience, I would guess they are very good at that whenever needed, too. For the Vault, there is role playing involved on the part of the hosts, and they were convincing, excellent at improv, and knew just the right moment to inject a bit of humor. The Architect is more of a traditional escape room, with some puzzle structures that you might have seen before if you have done a lot of rooms, but we found ~75% of the puzzles to be unique, which is amazingly impressive. The story behind the room is straightforward, but complex enough to motivate all of your actions and interactions throughout the game. There is a great combination of technology and basic logic. The Vault is more immersive - our game started off-site, and we enjoyed the scene-setting emails and texts that we received in advance. You have to be able to get into character to enjoy this game, and I would urge you to take the risk and do so. You end up feeling like you are really part of ring of thieves (albeit, in our case, one that has a teenage member that shrieks at certain surprising moments!). There are fewer traditional puzzles, but as with the Architect, those that are there are mostly unique to this game; the minds that are behind these challenges are incredibly creative. We also thoroughly enjoyed the balance between solving puzzles together and solving them individually in parallel. If you are at all experienced in escape games, you must, must, must book these rooms. If you have never done an escape room before, I would also recommend these; even if you don't end up completing the room, you will have a great time. My only hesitation is that you might be ruined for all of the other mediocre rooms that are out there!

We were 3 other escape room managers visiting from Denmark. We had a really fun game with the Architect, and in particular I loved the nice looking effects. Recommended

Amazing scenary for an escaperoom. Many rooms, great storyline, diverse puzzles and overall an awesome experience! Go do it yourselves!

I played this game with 6 other people I didn't know on forehand and it really was a pretty cool experience! I guess we where pretty smart because we solved it pretty quick. Too bad we can't play this room again, now we need to wait for the development of the second room. Can't nearly wait!

BOOK THIS ESCAPE ROOM NOW. It is fantastic. So excellently devised! Our group of 4 absolutely adored it. We did The Alchemist, the newest room, and it was superb. Our host, Teresa, was clear, helpful, and allowed us to be challenged. Really, she is the perfect host! The mission for the escape room was clearly stated and the escape room itself flowed so well. What was additionally of high quality in this room is that it was so technical. This escape room is out of this world cool. So many little things you wouldn’t expect from a normal escape room. Highly, highly recommend. We could not stop talking about how cool this room was.

This is one of the best escape rooms we've tried. We were only two persons, and did The Architect. You might benefit from being more than two, but it's possible, and we just made it on time. Great story, and innovative room.

Me and my friends went to Sherlocked this month and I'm out of words. Best experience of my life. It was intense and full of suprises. Nothing ever is what it seems. My advice: GO AND NEVER LEAVE! If I do go back to Amsterdam is to just get on a plane, land and go straight to Sherlocked to try the other experience. LOVED IT!!!!

The building and setup of the escape room are excellent - great venue. We were a little late for the room and staff were very accommodating. We are fairly experienced with escape rooms having completed more than 10 if them around Europe so had a good idea of what to expect. However we got very obviously stuck twice and felt it took too long to get a hint from the moderator which left us feeling quite frustrated. We felt the price was a bit excessive. We thought the main room itself was too big and the game would have worked better in a smaller space. Having said that, the props and feel of the space are excellent and there are some very original and lateral thinking puzzles.

I expected a lot from this game, because I read all the great reviews about it beforehand, but it was much better than I imagined. Definitely one of the best things I have ever experienced.
