Game Masters Wanted for Sherlocked in Amsterdam

Sherlocked is looking for Game Masters with a talent for storytelling to lead our award-winning escape room adventures.

About Sherlocked

We create adventures. We started in 2014 with one of the first escape rooms in the Netherlands and have since been continuously developing new groundbreaking projects.

We have three experiences at the Amsterdam Beurs van Berlage:

  • The Vault: an award-winning adventure where players feel like they are in a cinematic heist.
  • The Architect: a twist on the classic escape room format in Berlage's hidden office.
  • The Alchemist: a magical experience inspired by the worlds of J.K. Rowling, Luc Besson and Christopher Nolan.

In addition, we sometimes develop cool adventures in collaboration with partners like the Rijksmuseum and Google.

‍Playful, theatrical guidance is an important part of our adventures, which is why we are always looking for enthusiastic people with a knack for games to join our team.

You:

  • Are a storyteller
    You know how to engage people in a story and enjoy improvising with it. You will deal with various groups: young, old, Dutch, and international, which is why strong proficiency in English is required. 
  • Are self-reliant
    If a part of the game doesn't work, it's important that you can think of a solution yourself, sometimes even during a game. We're always ready to help, but it's important to have a solution-oriented attitude yourself.
  • Are reliable
    As a host, you're responsible for the quality of the experience. For many people, you'll be the face of Sherlocked.
  • Live in or near Amsterdam
In our heist experience The Vault, you support and guide players in the role of a typical sidekick character

    We are a young company with many ongoing projects and big ambitions. We are in full development and value everyone's input.

    At the end of the term, there will be room to grow into our permanent team at the Beurs van Berlage, by mutual agreement.

Practical information

  • We pay through payroll or invoice for freelancers. With longer commitment, there are opportunities to become a salaried employee.
  • Freelancer hourly rate: from €19.00 excl. VAT (increases with each year of experience)
  • A full work shift is about 8.5 hours per day
  • You apply for a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 shifts per week
